Online Classes Take Place

Thank you for your interest in our online electives for the 2024-2025 school year.
These courses are designed for middle school and high school students.
Tentative elective courses offered for the 2024-2025 school year are
World Language Lab and Game Design.
Please note: Classes are tentative - based on enrollment.
World Language Lab
Our World Language Lab offers a dedicated space for foreign language learning where middle
and high school students access online materials to learn their language of choice. We
utilize an online platform where students can select a foreign language for study. Students
can choose from Spanish, French, or Japanese. Students enrolled in the language lab will
receive access to an account for assignments, quizzes, and tests. Language platform
topics include vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, culture, comprehension and retention.
Class takes place Friday mornings from 9:00 am to 10:00 a.m.

Game Design
In the Game Design course, high school students will use the Unity framework to learn video
game design and C# scripting. The class is a two semester course covering topics typically found in
Video Game Design. To participate in this course, students do NOT need prior programming knowledge.
Students merely need to possess typical computer usage skills.
This course covers fundamental programming topics and skills such as:
* Game Engines
* Using the Unity framework
* C# scripting concepts
* 2D game physics
* Data types, variables and math
* Logical expressions and flow control
* Sprites and Unity game components
* Debugging and exceptions
* Object-Oriented Programming
* Loops and Arrays
* Game design strategies
* Animation and sound effects
* Game art
The Game Design class takes place Friday mornings from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Classes begin Friday, September 6th
LIMITED SEATING !!!
High school students who complete these courses may receive high school credit.
