Online Classes Take Place Sept 7th - April 29th
Thank you for your interest in our online electives for the 2021-2022 school year.
These courses are designed for middle school and high school students.
Elective courses offered are American Sign Language I and Web Development.
American Sign Language I
This course introduces basic knowledge about sign communication and deafness. Emphasis is placed upon acquisition of comprehension and production skills, knowledge of the Deaf community, and the development of cultural awareness. Topics include basic vocabulary, grammar, fingerspelling, numbers, and terminology.
Class takes place Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.
Class begins Tuesday, September 7th
The CompuScholar Unity Game Programming course uses the Unity framework to teach video game design and C# scripting. To participate in this course, students do NOT need prior programming knowledge. Students merely need to have typical computer usage skills prior to starting this course.
This course covers fundamental game design and C# coding skills such as:
* Game Engines
* Using the Unity framework
* C# scripting concepts
* 2D game physics
* Data types, variables and math
* Logical expressions and flow control
* Sprites and Unity game components
* Debugging and exceptions
* Object-Oriented Programming
* Loops and Arrays
* Game design strategies
* Animation and sound effects
* Game art
* Artificial intelligence
Class meetings takes place Friday mornings from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Classes begin Friday, September 10th
The cost for the online classes include an Admin/Registration Fee and monthly tuition payments. The Admin/Registation Fee for the Online Electives a one-time charge of $100.
The monthly tuition for the online courses are $25 per month per class.
LIMITED SEATING !!!
High school students who complete these courses may receive high school credit.
