About Us
New Generation Academy (NGA) began twenty years ago in 2003 when two like-minded families met and decided to apply Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 to their homeschooling practices. “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.”
Governed by a Board of Directors, we are a Christian-based community comprised of families with a similar vision and goals. We work together to not only build our children up but to also help and encourage fellow parents along this journey. NGA was formed on the principle- Love God, love others, and work really, really hard to be your best self.
A message from our director Barbara Johnson
Our Director's Story
My husband and I homeschooled four great kids for over 26 years with much prayer, fear and trembling, while fighting feelings of inadequacy all the way. Our homeschool journey began with a warning - “Barbara! You’re gonna mess those kids up!” But, there is no God like our God! His name is Faithful. Look at His hand:
Noelle graduated from Georgia State University with a BS degree in Managerial Science and a BS in Finance. She currently works for Arthur Blank Corporation. Frankie graduated Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS degree in Industrial Engineering and currently works for Microsoft. Nick graduated North Georgia Technical College with an Associates degree in Welding and currently serves in the US Army as a Horizontal Engineer. And our baby girl, Jessica, is currently a student at Georgia Tech. Aside from their academic success, more importantly, they all love the Lord!
We did not homeschool alone. Many beautiful saints of God have selflessly poured into our children and our family. Our NGA family has held our hands through life’s tough challenges and celebrated some of our happiest moments. We are a community and collectively educate our children.
Who We Are and What We're All About ...
MISSION STATEMENT
New Generation Academy (NGA) is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
We are comprised of Christian teaching homes working together to educate and to build and
develop Christ-like character for the next generation. As a Christian community, we believe
the Holy Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
PURPOSE
The purpose of NGA is to provide a Christian based, socially rich educational environment that promotes
academic excellence while encouraging students to become more well-rounded and diverse.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
WE BELIEVE the Holy Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God (II Timothy 3:15; II Peter 1:21).
WE BELIEVE there is one God, eternally existent in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
(Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30).
WE BELIEVE in the deity of Christ (John 10:33),
His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35),
His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, Hebrews 7:26), His miracles (John 2:11),
His vicarious and atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9),
His resurrection (John 11:25, I Corinthians 15:4),
His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19) and
His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11).
The Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible
Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind,
is the sole and final source of all that we believe.
PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION
NGA provides students with an overall sense of personal destiny through the study of history, science,
the arts, and social and cultural relationships. We provide students with an opportunity to gain a
balance of knowledge and service in their lives.
Our philosophy is …

study of history, science, the arts, and through social and cultural relationships.
** To provide students an opportunity to gain a balance of knowledge and service in their lives.
** To provide students with an understanding of how to handle stress and pressure and
to view them as God's ways of developing character.
** To provide students with assistance in recognizing their gifts and calling for God's glory.
** To provide students with the support to become consistent Christians in character, conduct, and conversation.
